Of Civilizations Past

With month of reading and scrolling about the internet I finally have something else to gab on. These are mainly just my thoughts on old civilzations and a little chatting on about the possibility of ancient aliens in them. The second one will be minor point though.

Going back to the reading a moment, most of it was on mythology and myself thinking about the old roman empire and the civilizations before them. For anyone watching Ancient Aliens they already know that idea that the aliens were the gods and that they’re what made our civilizations of old so advanced. They gave us some of their technology and helped us advance as a people and species. I’m not here to talk about that theory though. To be honest I can understand them helping us but I’m not so sure that if any aliens had come here that they’d be so willing to make their influence that obvious.

religious alien

To side track for a second, we’d happily want to be perceived as “gods” since we’re vain in that type of manner. After all for centuries the main consensus was that we’re the peak of god’s creations. We naturally like to put ourselves at the top and above.  We cannot just assume that another civilization from the stars would be so eager to do the same just using ourselves as a model. Unless of course, it really is just “us” from the future that is, in which case the statement is retracted.

Now then to get onto the main idea of this post. What if we’re just going in cycles? Think about it a moment. When the Roman empire existed, for the time it was one of the many peaks of civilization. Then due to human error and some sacking it was lost and a majority of the technology and information they had was forgotten by man. The dark ages struck and if stripped of the clothes and the caste system they’d seem nothing more than like animals in their packs. Centuries later the grasp of the dark ages begins to slip with the Renaissance and later Enlightenment period. Knowledge and technology for the benefit of man started to slowly reappear. Before you know it in a way we’re back to where the Roman and other civilizations had been, the peak. Granted we might still be far from ours but we’re not the main focus at the moment.

yonaguni

To think a little more on it what of the (possible) cities of Dwarka and Yonaguni now that they’ve been rediscovered? There have also been other civilizations lost to the mists of time and a mere google search can bring half of the known ones up. They rise and they fall with darkage like periods separating them between the next great empire. That’s not always true with some, given that some empires take one another over, but this about their complete end.

To try and condense my ramblings, the idea is that we go in cycles. We have great and powerful civilizations but then due to our own error we make them crumble. War in general, Tyrannical leaders, or just people being lead on by red herrings to mess up what they had before and being convinced it was worse. Going from possibly great people to nothing more than loose clannish groups running around like dog packs to stay alive before another civilization rises up from the dust. It’s a possiblity.

Note: I do not lay claim to these images in any form.

Inappropriate reasons for delving into the Paranormal

Like the post about graveyards part of this is about being respectful of the dead. The main reason I’m writing about this topic is that theres something that disturbs me. Namely being the reasons some people have for delving into the paranormal head first. Please don’t misunderstand me on this, it makes me happy when people can be attracted into believing in the subject.  However it must be considered the reasons for why and if they’re getting into it for the right reasons.

Now to get along with the topic we’ll start with one I find to be one of two inappropriate reasons. The first being people of any age group trying to make contact or doing a “ghost hunt” for a cheap thrill. Hugely disrespectful to any spirits they can come into contact with as well as just insulting to the subject in general to my own opinion. If they later become more respectful believers and reasearchers later then no one can really complain. My point though is that one should never assume the spirits are there for just a quick tick off the bucket list. They might be dead but even they hate it when their time is wasted.

Secondly, because a loved one has passed. For this one I have a little more sympathy than the above. Death being apart of life and us all losing someone near and dear is understandable. The problem with this reason however is when a relative seeks to regain contact with the deceased. For anyone that’s seen the movie Casper, that gets my point across. In the movie Dr. Hardy uprooted his life and daughter searching the country for his deceased wife, Amelia. At the end of it he does eventually get to see her again but only after having been killed himself ( and brought back to life ). She explains to him why he never found her was that she had already crossed over. She had married a wonderful man and had a child with him from that had had a full life she therefore no reason to stay. For anyone that has lost a loved one I have to ask, did they have a full life? If so, like Amelia, they’d have no reason to stay. Now the former will have more respect than the first since love and respect go hand in hand. For most those are what we feel when we’d think of the deceased. It must be accepted that they’ve probably moved on though and the search is in vain. Another problem with it in searching for the loved one in question someone else doing a mock up of them can come in their place.

Now there could be other inapproppriate reasons for diving into the paranormal but the above, again, are the top two that I hear about. Ultimately though it is up to the reader to fully decide if they want to get into the subject at hand. This has only been presented so that if anyone some how files into one of the above they might rethink it just a little. Perhaps with the extra peice of input they might either be more respectful at first or safe gaurd themselves depending on the ones they meet.

With all of the above said this post will need further editing in the future. This post is far from perfect and could use some input from anyone reading it later.

Dark Spirits or Demons within ourselves

Now then to get started let me explain what I mean by the title. For myself I don’t believe all evil spirits to be demons. I’m not the only one to believe this way, but I still feel the need to give reason as to why.

spirits

With books and movies in popular culture sometimes jerking themselves to demons ( or dark mystical cults ) it’s not hard for people to jump to them when things may start to go awry. I’m not saying media culture is the only thing responsible but with movies and books like the Exorcist and End of Days, let’s just put it nicely with “people are impressionable at any age”.  With the imagination and nightmare fuel in their heads when some feel targeted by a spirit they might jump to this conclusion. However we’re finally moving on to why the title is as it is.

For this we’ll need a little anecdotal memory recall from everyone. Now think back to a time bullying came to play at anytime in life, be it in elementary school or the workplace. The bully in question might try to make themselves seem better or tougher in some manner in comparison to the target. When it comes to “evil” spirits I believe it to be the same scenario.  While demons do exist we can be demons in of ourselves more often than not. When people so cruel in their own hearts die what’s to make them change after death? Nothing simply. Calous people in life become calous people in death. Now to add on a little more they know their dead but still maintain a hold on their former home or business or what have you. They would do anything to drive the people inhabiting it then to “reclaim” what’s theirs. This even involves claiming themselves to be demons and with even just minor knowledge of the bible can claim to be under a well known name,  i.e. Belzebub, Legion, and a standby “the Devil”.

Just in defence of other spirits floating in the ether not all of them are dark in nature. I could stress this till I’m blue in the face. They just fall victim to lumping. What I mean by lumping is that the darker spirits have a larger voice and influence on how we perceive the rest of the spirits. A whispered insult speaks louder than a shouted compliment and it’s the same mentality when comparing spirits. The amount of negative encouters versus positive is extremely unblanaced depending on how one looks at it and the places the sources come from.

Again I’ll state that I do believe that demons exist and this post is not to claim that they don’t. I just find that for a majority of cases that it’s far more likely that it’s a human spirit putting on a scary mask. The simple reasoning that if they can masquerade about as one of us, what’s to say some of the truly evil or embittered among us won’t do the same thing?

Black eyed kids or a peek into BEK’s

This is a topic mentioned to me by a Mr.Byers. After my topic on Mothman he asked if I had anything on black eyed children. A little perplexed I asked him about it he gave me a link to ufodigest to read on for myself. This is what I’ve learned as well as connecting the dots in my head.

For anyone that has seen the Ju-on* movies will be familiar with the appearance of a BEK, though I don’t believe they’re purely just spirit related. My reason for saying this is that the BEK’s strongly remind me of some books on the paranormal my dad has. When I was little, about six or seven, he’d let me read them and I devoured the information. Due to my limited reading capacity at the time I could only read so much, but there was a passage that stuck with me the most. Don’t worry this anecdote is almost over. The passage in question involved the so called MIB and people that have had them visit into their home. The “guests” would put the home owner in a state of unease in their presence as well as showing ignorance to everyday household items. The reports in the book also stated they were deathly pale and appeared to be wearing make up in an attempt to mimic a more normal appearance. From this between the BEK’s and MIB reported in the book(s) a couple parallels can be drawn.

A) Both appear to be ordinary humans at first. There is a sense of unease about them but until we place our finger on what’s wrong we might ignore it. With the BEK’s it’s when it’s realized their eyes are pitch black, cornea and all. The MIB, depending on who it is (there have to be some human ones in the ranks after all), may show an ignorance of common items or while try to mimic our behaviors but do so in jerky or mechanical way, again creating a sense of unease.

B) A sense of urgency in both. For the BEK’s they attempt to try and enter ones home or vehicle. The reason for such will vary on the situation but the longer they are denied entry the more urgent they become. For the MIB the urgency is in secrecy. Again the situation will vary but the usual cause for their appearance is to enforce some level of secrecy even going so far as to threaten the individuals in question at the time.

To the BEK’s, a connection to them and “classical” vampires can be drawn via the needing an invitation. For me that connection just isn’t there. I’m more inclined to think that they’re more than likely related in some form to extraterrestrials. They tend to pop up around evening and later, much like most ufo sightings. They also have the dark eyes which, for anyone that is familiar with the stereotypical “greys” appearance,  can see similarities there. Perhaps the BEK’s are in disguise to act as scouts for potential marks and for whatever reason they still need their eyes exposed. In to the artical linked below it is stated perhaps the fear they instill in us is sourced to their eyes. Mayhaps if their disguise covered them it would act in a similar way to why they don’t wear sunglasses to cover the unsettling feature. They need us to see their eyes.

However there is one small problem with the BEK’s, or rather the sightings of them. Like many possible spectres of the paranormal, e.t. or spirit,  they fall prey to Hoaxitis. One I’m sure everyone knows of is the famous picture of nessie that turned out to be a modified toy sub. While it lasted it was grand, but once it was shown false the skeptics had many an “I told you so” to rub in. Unless someone has a security camera the time the BEK, or anything else for that matter, comes knocking there will be no real evidence to validate the experience. To make matters worse we are the easiest ones to convince when it comes to something we believe. There was an episode of the Unexplained that put that point across nicely. If everyone will allow me to ramble again the study they performed went as such:

They took a group of people out by some caution tape. Said tape was supposed to be guarding off a fake ufo crash sight. They then took their group and asked them what they saw. Needless to say a majority of the group had fabricated something in their minds, all without meaning to. Their study being a test on the mind and how time affects memory they repeated the questions to the group sixth months later. The earlier fabrications now almost wildly different from before. One of them even stated the fake MP’s there pointed guns at them even though the group hadn’t even gotten anywhere near them to see them.

Now then the point to the secondary anecdote. A portion of all sightings are fake in one form or another. Whether an unintended creation of our own mind or a hoax played on us, we have to accept some aren’t real. I don’t doubt that BEK’s exist just that there is cause to believe that some sightings aren’t credible. That can be said till were all blue in the face though it would change few peoples minds. In the words of my former communications teacher, it’s easier to change someones attitude than it is to change ones beliefs.

Now then, I leave everyone with one last BEK picture because I wanted to shove it in somewhere. I’m off to go read up more information.

Mothman

Ah finally time for the Mothman post. Though I will warn everyone that it will be a rather brief post. Why is this? Well there isn’t really an entire lot to be said about this insanely elusive cryptid. Outside of its appearances and its possible connections there isn’t much to write about. If anyone wants to read reports on it just go to Google and do some skimming. With that out of the way lets get started.

Mothman, as I learned about him from the Weird travels program long long ago in a galaxy far far away, is a cryptid with a penchant for being a harbinger of doom. The last bit is due to a disastrous event involving a bridge in Point Pleasant West Virginia, for there were many sightings of the creature leading up to the collapse. Many for that reason believed it was just the messenger, while some prefer to believe that it was the cause of it. Either way both theories on that are neither here nor there. After all a cat waved it’s paw and now everyone can find Maneneko statues everywhere in Japan just about. Though if either one was true I’d certainly hope that it was the former that held true.

If one were to visit Point Pleasant they might find some people to be tight lipped about it. I recall one woman that was interviewed stating she was afraid to talk about it that “it might bring it back”. At the time I thought that sentiment to be absolutely ridiculous. The cryptid isn’t the creature from the “Don’t think about it” goosebumps Halloween special. Going for a moment onto the creatures appearance according to reports it was as large or larger than a man, large glowing eyes, and an expansive wing span. Certainly not the thing, but it would haunt ones nightmares for a while I could imagine. With that processed it’s no wonder many of the locals were afraid of it even long after it supposedly vanished.

“Supposedly? What do you mean by that?”.  What I mean is there have been other sightings of it outside of Point pleasant. Of course it has possibly been referred to under separate names. The main one I know of is that of Owlman. It’s “sister” cryptid was spotted in Mawnan Cornwall. Like the Mothman it was seen and/or heard for a period of time and supposed encounters going on past the original reports. Main reason I say supposed is because at this point a majority of encounters could either be hoaxes or misidentification. There’s even a festival for Mothman now so to have more encounters would spur it on and people with a thing for pranks. I’m not trying to bash any credibility on anyone here but if the initial encounters were real I believe Mothman has long since moved on and that Point Pleasant has gone taken the same approach a South Carolina town did Lizard man.

To add to it’s lack of credibility at this time is that apparently people have terrible depth perception at night. The bright glowing eyes of the moth man could have been those of an owl.  With large wing spans in some of them it doesn’t take much to stretch the imagination just a little bit.Good luck trying to tell that to anyone that saw the creature though. I would believe myself over any skeptic had I seen it myself (while running in the opposite direction).

With that note on my cowardice I’ll leave everyone to think or go on to where it is they go.

Connection between Aliens and Bobbie?

To recap bobbie is what I call bigfoot because I’m just tired of bigfoot and seeing it so much. Adding something new to the pool is all I’m doing. Now then onto the topic at hand, which is the relation between aliens and bobbies. My attention for this topic was nabbed when I saw the newest episode of Ancient Aliens. To be really honest some of their theories are becoming so stretched they beat most size queens. A rather nasty mental image though it gets my point across and my sentiment towards the theory.

The idea that Bobbie is the alien is completely absurd to me. Don’t get me wrong I love Wookies and have nothing against them, but the idea of Bobbies being a real life counter part on earth? I’d much rather believe that we’re the aliens instead. On top of that if there is a correlation between the two I’d liken it to being more along the cow deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were taking them and just setting them back down but keeping them in the shape they found them. After all the best way to see how something ticks is to take it apart.

“Why would they put Bobby back in one piece?” Some might ask, “If it does exist it’s just an animal right?” . To this I would put a yes and no. Yes, since it technically is an animal as much as we are. For the “No”, why wouldn’t they just be another animal? Why don’t they just leave Bobbie corpses all over the place like they do with cows and horses? To this effect I believe there to be a very simple answer. They’re rare. Yes yes, I know given that it’s blatantly obvious but that’s the only thing I can come to logically.

Lets take a moment to side track so I can explain it better. When we, as humans, capture an animal there are several things we can do with it. We can:

A: Kill it. This option is usually for very common animals either for food or population control.

B: Use it as a test subject. There are many animals with some parts of them close enough to our own that we can perform tests on them to see how it could possibly work on humans. Thankfully this is slowly but surely going out of style with many products outside the medical profession ( ey we still need the pig valves for a little while )

C: Study and release. Self explanatory here for the most part. We catch animals to study, tag, then release upon the study’s completion. Said tags can assist in further research later.

D: Breeding. Outside of animal mills this is usually done for species preservation. Several pairs are caught then bred in captivity. With some species it’s possible to release the offspring back to the wild in hopes of bringing back the population.

Returning to Bobbie I think that B and C apply to them as much as it does to us.  However while we’re are plentiful, there is evidence highly suggestive of Bobbies being in so few in terms of numbers. This is the most probable reason they have been seen together. Bobbies are no aliens they’re just as much a test subject as we are. They just happen to be spotted pre/post abduction.

Mind everyone these are just my thoughts on this theory. Perhaps after this small read they can be among everyone else’s too.

Debunked UFO/Cryptid cases

This post comes from a particular tick I have. This tick in question is I absolutely HATE and I mean HATE it when meticulously debunked cases are brought up to be checked over again. The show Fact or Faked has been the biggest scratchy contact in my eye for this very reason.

For this I have decided to have a special post dedicated to all the cases that can be at least 85% conclusive to their hoaxness. This will be an ever growing list as a result and will include video’s and photographs. Many of the ones that will have been deemed hoaxes can be redeemed but until I see evidence otherwise they will remain on the list. A majority of which will be blatantly obvious others might be a little obscure. If anyone else knows of a mostly proven hoax case please leave a comment below so that I might include them in the list.

Big red and flaming point here no I will not list the Patterson film since to me a lot of the evidence to it’s credibility point to “pretty possible” side of the scale that it’s real.

The above picture was featured in one of the numerous Bigfoot themed episodes of Monsterquest during it’s run and rerun on the History channel. They managed to disprove it’s credibility after having an expert look at it. Looking at the full picture it’s not hard to see why most thought it to be real at first.

This image and many others like it have been, for the most part, explained either on UFO Hunters or UFO Files. I haven’t heard anything about them but for anyone new to the topics it’s good to let them know.

Anyone that has seen the series Destination Truth has learned that this was actually just a poor bald sloth. However this is one of the pink sheep rare times this show has failed. I first heard about this poor sloth from a YouTube show called “Pretty much it” where the show host even said that it was fake and that it had already been investigated and proven to be a hairless sloth. Though I let it slide since with how YouTube is you never know what you’re going to get and what true gems are buried deep under all those cat videos.

This is another one of those cases that made my crumpets go stale. The whole Texan Chupacabra thing that went on and was shown on monster quest. After all was said and done they were able to show that it was nothing more than a mange plagued hybrid of a dog and coyote. Poor thing, death by skin parasite.

The Montauk  monster. Not so much a monster as it is a partially nibbled on body. Looking at the head I would guess a dog with a short snout. Heck it could even have been a fat cat. It’s just a case where the amount of decay (or animal nomming ) has warped the initial appearance making it appear as something else entirely. There are other pictures at different angles that help make that more obvious.

This is one that didn’t occur to me first time around. If everyone will remember back maybe two years ago (maybe less maybe more ) there was a big to-do about the face seen on mars and supposed constructs on the moon. The above is just the result of facial matrixing.

Another one to add in thanks to it being pointed out thanks to Mr.Byers along with the above face. Rods to me are a kind of in between ground where if they were real I’d have no idea how to classify them. Point being though at the time many cameras couldn’t properly catch bugs due to frame rates. To put it one way lets imagine we have a glowing ball on a string and we turn out the lights. Now swing that ball around and everyone should notice that it leaves a light trail. Same thing just with bugs and cameras.

Heres one I’m just gonna put in, just in case the newer folk are unfamiliar with it. The Amityville horror is fake. I can’t for the life of me remember the show it aired on, but I do recall it being aired on the travel channel when the “good” paranormal shows like weird travels would come on. A family that lived there, the Lutz, used the “there’s a ghost in my house” excuse to get out of a home they couldn’t pay for. Either way the haunting is a sham and is only known due to old publicity. It’s no wonder people don’t accept that as a reason anymore.

I know this is rather short but as stated before it will require more edits in the future. I just can’t think of anymore hoaxes off the top of my head that aren’t blatantly obvious. Once more if anyone has one please let me know and I will list it here. That aside I’m about as iffy as anyone wanting to use “extinct” only replace it with the word hoax. If a suggestion is made please put a source of any kind to validate the evidence in favor of proving a hoax and or trick of the eyes.

Images: Not bothering this time since this post will get pretty dang long in the future.
